2 week old baby rabbits
While going for a rabbit, see that the baby rabbit is orphaned, and this can be guessed if you see 2 week old baby rabbits at the same place for a couple of days, as normal rabbits will not be in the same place for more time and will return back to their nest. Here are the few tips which will help you in taking care of your 2 week old baby rabbits:
- Make the nest for the 2 week old baby rabbits which should be soft. Take the cardboard and make it a box out of that cardboard. Place the soft towels inside the cardboard and also cover the upper portion with a soft towel. But, while doing so see to it that there is an inch gap for the air to get inside the box.
- If the room temperature is below 68 degrees, then the temperature should be hotter where you place your 2 week old baby rabbits. Place heat pads in half portion of the box under the towel, so that if the rabbits feel hot, they can move to the other portion which would be relatively cool.
- Feed the baby rabbits with Kitten Milk Replacer (KMR) which will be available at a veterinarian’s office or in a pet store. Cow’s milk should not be given. To each can of KMR, 1 tbsp of cream has to be added, as this will help in increasing the calorie count. Acidophilus is also to be added, as it increases the survival rate due to bacteria in the baby, and the stomach will be balanced. Half capsule is to be taken for 2 week old baby rabbits and increase the intake of the capsule to 1 after two weeks.
