A new handset will soon be joining the Android smartphones. Sony Ericsson will soon be releasing a new handset which will be a new member of the premium XPERIA brand and will be one among the top of the smartphones with cool functionalities.
Codenamed as Sony Ericsson Rachel will be the third among the other major manufacturers to join the Android bandwagon, the other two being HTC and Samsung. Sony Ericsson Rachel looks like one superb handset easily outshining the other Android handsets announced so far.
It is said that Sony Ericsson XPERIA Rachel phone is based on the Qualcomm QSD8250 Snapdragon platform that provides a 1GHz CPU and dedicated graphics acceleration. The phone also offers Wi-Fi connectivity, GPS and 3G with HSDPA.
To begin with, Sony Ericsson XPERIA will sport 8 megapixel camera with autofocus and amazing pixel density as expected in any XPERIA because the dev team at Sony Ericsson were always taken up with cameras which is why we will be seeing a 12 megapixel phone from them by the end of the year. The fully-touch operated phone will have a 3.5mm jack and a standard miniUSB jack. Perhaps the best thing about the Sony Ericsson Rachel is its 4” touchscreen that will come with the amazing WVGA 800 x 480 pixel resolution.
You must have already guessed by now that we do not have any information about the availability and pricing of the handset. But as we all know that Android 2.0 comes in autumn and Sony Ericsson Rachel being the first Android 2.0 to be released it is expected to be launched at the later part of this year.
